The Why:
Of late, I have been feeling way too lethargic and demotivated to do anything in life.
2020 had been a rough year for me and for a lot of the people across the world. (No) Thanks to some situations in my life in 2020 that were out of my control, I can’t help but think that my life is just slipping away from my hands.
So I have to decided to take some actions that I think will help me gain a grip over my life by adopting some good practices and learn some skills by being consistent over the next 12 weeks starting January 17, 2021. Documenting my journey in Medium will keep me accountable and also push me to write more articles which is one of the action items for my ‘project’. This is the To-Do List that I am using for Week 1 that I have created using Canva.
Choice of Action Items:
It’s been over a year since I did some serious coding and I am planning to refresh my knowledge in Python. I haven’t used Python much, have always been more of a C++, Java programmer, so I think this is the right time to learn a new language.
I am going to follow this course on Coursera: https://www.coursera.org/learn/python/home/welcome and I will update my progress on my subsequent articles. Please check this course out if you are looking to get into coding or learn some Python.
I have also gained 30 pounds so I will also be focusing daily to get some movement in and eat healthier. So, my action items will mainly focus on coding every day and going back to a healthy lifestyle. In addition to that, I am trying to learn to play the ukelele. But that’s on my low priority list. I will keep on adding items to this list every week as my requirement changes and as life plays out.
What I Aim to Achieve:
Looking back at my life, I have realized that I have done a lot of planning/thinking and have followed through very little on my plans. This is my effort to bring to move from the “thinking mindset” to the “doing mindset” and to kill that inner voice in my head that undermines my self -worth. This is a battle that I hope to win.
